- This class will be held as a virtual classroom via Zoom by Frank Freda. The Final Exam will also be administered electronically.
Pre-Licensing is a requirement for applying for your New York Property & Casualty Agent or Broker’s License. At the end of our course there is a 150 question comprehensive exam. You must score a 70% or higher to pass. If you have met the attendance requirements in addition to passing the comprehensive exam you receive a certificate of completion, which you will need to apply for your license.
There is also a NYS Exam (17-56) that you are required to pass in order to apply for your Insurance License. This test is given by PSI and they currently charge $33 per attempt. There is no limit to attempts. There is a 24 hour waiting period before re-scheduling.
After completing pre-licensing & passing the NYS Exam you can apply for your New York Property & Casualty License online with the DFS.

The Property & Casualty Textbook enables you to easily navigate our P&C course with ease while the Exam Simulator gives you access to a database of questions that will help you prepare for the NYS Exam.
You must have a stable internet connection for this course – attendance will be monitored.
